Description

from Politics & Pints Capitol Hill Tour
Washington, DC is the center of American government and politics – and this tour will let you experience all the political action and participate in the debate! Our guides will act as educators and facilitators and give you all the information, history, and context you need to have a lively debate with your fellow guests and, who knows, we may solve some issues while we’re at it! Even if we don’t change any policies, we’ll still end the tour at a bar where the drinks will cement our friendships and loosen our tongues.

Your Washington, DC tour begins at the heart of the city, the U.S. Capitol Building. Here, you’ll discover the origins of the city, the inner workings of the American government, and some incredible stories about U.S. politics as you stand right in front of the building that started it all. Discuss the development of the city as you gaze upon the Capitol, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress.

Next, we’ll wander up one of the most historic streets in the city while engaging in a lively political discussion and debate, all led by your guide. Opinions welcome, but keep it friendly!

During our journey we’ll pass and discuss some of the most historic places of Capitol Hill, including the Eastern Market, the Old Navy Hospital, and the Marine Core Barracks. Find out where all the movers and shakers meet outside the office, and uncover the changes the neighborhood and city have undergone. You’ll be fascinated by the how you can see the origins of the city in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Finally, we’ll check out the oldest commercial district in the city, Barrack’s Row. There, your local guide will point out some of the best spots to eat, drink, and socialize in the city, before ending our Washington tour at one of our favorite bars on the Row.

What a great expeirence! Sasha was a great guide and was very knowledgeable about history! The only complaint is the two hours went by too fast. I strongly recommend people visiting DC to ride with Sasha as she will tell you the spots to see. And if her mom really reads these, you have a great and very smart daughter! See you next year.

Tour was awesome! We zoomed around D.C. in an open air electric cart which was much better than a stuffy bus or closed trolley. Our guide/driver, Montie, was excellent - he was personal, professional, and knowledgeable and absolutely made it an unforgettable evening. Definitely worth your time and money.

"Aussie’s do a DC tour with Montie"

Travelling From Australia my family and I had the pleasure of meeting Montie and going on his excellent tour of Washington DC. He not only showed us all the nightlife and the tourist attractions, coming from overseas he explained in full what all the monuments meant to the people of United States. Montie was very informative, very polite, answered all questions. He went out of his way to assist where possible and had a great sense of humour. When booking your guided tour ask for Montie you will not regret that decision.

So glad I booked this tour. With a limited time in Washington, DC, and the daytime hours filled with museums, this is the best way to see the monuments in DC with the added fun of seeing them by moonlight. Our guide Sasha was very well informed and funny too. The electric car (the red Ferrari) was comfortable, had seatbelts and was expertly driven by Sasha. I highly recommend this tour.

We did the monuments tour at night. Highly recommend. We had originally toured the monuments on foot a few days prior, but found this tour online and figured why not! Was not disappointed. Chris was our tour guide, he was fantastic. Great personality, kept all of us entertained and very knowledgeable. He went above and beyond what we had expected. If you have a spare couple of hours I would check them out.
