"A conflicted tour"

My husband and I were visiting DC for a weekend away, and we booked this tour ahead of time based on positive feedback and promotion by word of mouth. The stops on the tour were just what we were looking for and we enjoyed seeing so many monuments at night. I felt, however, that the experience was somewhat disappointing because of our less than stellar tour guide. She was knowledgeable and pleasant, but often made inappropriate comments, was obviously politically biased, and rushed through her commmentary. Would definitely try this one again, but maybe in the spring, and not necessarily with the same company.

The entire trolley was impressed! We did not have the best weather, but he did everything he could to give us the best views and kee is entertained. I highly recommend!!

Smiley, our driver, was a highlight of the tour. Wear comfy shoes and bring a sweater; you will be hopping off and on the trolley at many stops. This is a great way to get pictures during less crowded times.

This was a great tour and the monuments were beautiful at night. The cart tour allowed us to save our feet and still enjoy the beautiful monuments. The tour guide also pointed out other important landmarks and buildings around the National Mall.

"Great Tour - so glad we chose to do this one!"

With so many Night Tours offered in Washington DC it was difficult to choose which one to do. We thoroughly enjoyed this one although I'm sure they are all good. We departed from Union Station and although my husband and I arrived about 20 minutes early there was already a huge crowd waiting for the bus. This looked disappointing but it really worked for us. There were a couple of buses parked at the Station but these were not the ones that were loaded first. There were 3 buses (I think, or maybe it was just 2) that arrived and these were filled - the only thing was, these buses had obviously picked up from hotels along the way so they were NOT empty when they arrived. So by the time we were at the head of the queue and ready to load - yay! that bus arrived empty!!! We were very lucky to get good seats. It is just the luck of the draw, but do be aware that getting to the pick up point early is not really a great benefit. The tour was fabulous and we had a great guide and driver - Just Joe. He very considerately slowed down for photo shots in places that he was not able to stop, he was very informative as well as humorous in his explanations. Truly it was an unforgettable tour and our last stop in particular at the Iwo Jima Monument was very emotive. Washington city is absolutely beautiful and to visit some of the monuments at night is so memorable. My favourites were the Martin Luther King memorial and the Lincoln memorial, and of course the Iwo Jima memorial. Some of the others, like the Korean War Veterans memorial are better seen during daylight hours. Love this tour!!
